About Maison Wessman

Reinventing Tradition, Redefining Excellence

Since its creation in 2016, Maison Wessman has firmly anchored itself in the French wine landscape, becoming a symbol of creation and excellence.

Chateau

Saint-Cernin:

Château Saint-Cernin

This is where the story of Maison Wessman began, with Robert Wessman’s acquisition of Château de Saint-Cernin in the early 2000s. The medieval 12th century château underwent a full restoration, and the first vineyards were planted, leading to the release of the inaugural vintage in 2016.

Situated on one of the highest points of the Issigeac plateau, the Saint-Cernin vineyard spans approximately 25 acres and is renowned for its ability to produce exceptional wines. The vineyard is rooted in a rare and demanding terroir, elevated by precise viticultural and winemaking practices.

Bergerac:

Vignoble des Verdots

Acquired in 2021, Maison Wessman strengthened its presence in the region, The estate boasts modern infrastructure and an extraordinary underground cellar, where a river flows through—a true symbol of purity and vitality.

The vineyard boasts varied soils of clay, limestone, and flint, enabling nuanced expression of cultivated grape varieties. Whites are fresh and mineral, while reds, grown on gravely clay limestone soils, are dense and complex.

The Verdots vineyard in Conne-de-Labarde is an iconic estate in Bergerac. Slowly, we are building the area into an eco-village, with informative tours of our underground cellars, wine tasting experiences, and an on-site restaurant in collaboration with French Chef, Thierry Marx, which sources ingredients locally, as well as on-site accommodations for our visitors.

Limoux

Limoux:

Vignoble de Bugalys

In addition to its roots in Périgord Pourpre, Maison Wessman, driven by Robert Wessman’s profound love for Chardonnay, established itself in Limoux at La Serpent. With altitudes close to 1,000 feet, this terroir rises along the Pyrenean slopes.

Thanks to these exceptional terroirs and the involvement of Andreas Larsson, known as the Best Sommelier of the World, our winemaking techniques are on par with the greatest Chardonnay cuvées and the resulting Chardonnays Maison Wessman produces in Limoux are truly exceptional.
